Accounts Payable Clerk

 Full Time On-site Position: (M-F 7:30am to 4pm)

Bachman’s has openings for a person experienced in accounts payable. Who is skilled in coordinating with buyers, communicating with vendors, processing inventory freight and allocating to inventory invoices, as well as ensuring accuracy of vendor terms to purchase orders.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Assign vendor number, match invoice, and code with AP account number approved invoices. Ensure accuracy of vendor terms to PO and sales and use is accounted for. Input invoices to the Accounts Payable system. Run batch (file group) edits and posts to payment queue.
• Process inventory freight and allocate to inventory invoices. Review and allocate 3rd Party Freight to inventory receipts and reconciling variances. Review inventory invoices for freight and reconciling variances. Each business unit has a specific freight methodology to ensure accurate freight allocations.
• Finalize and balance Accounts Payable trial balance and authorize the printing and distribution of Accounts Payable checks
• Coordinate with buyers, receiving personnel and managers to resolve discrepancies and obtain the proper approvals.
• Communicate with vendors by phone, e-mail and letter to reconcile account differences and resolve problems.
• Processes all expense reports and communicate with company employee credit card holders regarding related reports ensuring timely reporting and payment.
• Assist Clerks-Accounts Payable with reconciling discrepancies with vendors, buyers, and AP system issues. Ensure Clerks-Accounts Payable are cross trained in the differences that are unique to specific vendors.
• Assist Supervisor AP & Transportation to update & maintain department policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned. Example: create AP account codes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two – year accounting certificate or three years of experience in a computerized Accounts Payable required
• Strong math and problem-solving aptitude
• Must be proficient with a PC, e-mail, spreadsheets and text documents
• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and train others
